Phoenix dactylifera, commonly known as date palm/date palm or tamara, is a palm whose edible fruit is the date, native to Southwest Asia. Comes in a bag grown from organic seed ready to be transplanted into prepared and ready soil.
It is a dioecious palm with a single trunk, often with shoots at its base, up to 30 m tall and 20 to 50 cm in diameter, covered with the remains of old leaves. Pinnate, spiny leaves, 1.5 to 5 m long, with glaucous leaflets 10-80 cm long. Erect, highly branched inflorescences emerging from brown bivalve spathes between the leaves, the females becoming pendulous in fruiting. Bracteate flowers with 3 sepals and 3 petals, the masculine ones cream-colored and with 6 stamens, and the feminine ones green-yellowish with tricarpelar gynoecium with stigmas twisted outwards.
